Breaking! Bayern Munich sack legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti

- Carlo Ancelotti has been fired from his position as head coach of Bayern Munich

- The club's bosses held an emergency meeting after the defeat to PSG to determine his future

- The Italian’s assistant Willy Sagnol is one of the favorites to replace him

Bayern Munich have announced that head coach Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked after Wednesday’s 3-0 defeatto Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The Italian, who led Bayern to the Bundesliga title last season replaced Pep Guardiola last summer.

Ancelotti’s assistant Willy Sagnol, former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel and Hoffenheim’s Julian Nagelsmann are among the early favourites to succeed him.

Bayern also confirmed that staff members Davide Ancelotti, Giovanni Mauri, Francesco Mauri and Mino Fulco have also left the club.

The Bavarians have also announced that club legend Willy Sagnol will take charge of the club on an interim basis.

Bayern have also endured a difficult start to the Bundesliga season, losing at Hoffenheim in their third match and being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Wolfsburg last Friday.
